Type C

USB Type-C, or USB-C, is smaller than the traditional USB-A and is small and rectangular in shape. The biggest difference between Type-C and other versions of USB is that it can be put in the socket both ways exactly like a Lightning connector.

Even more difference we find inside the actual cable. The cable is able to handle many different tasks at the same time.

The cable have a large number of conductors inside and this is the reason it can handle many different functions at the same time.

A common misconception is that a Type-C can do anything. This is not true. Type-C is just the formfactor not the content.

Contact Us and we can help you find the correct Type-C Cable/Connector.

USB 4.0

SuperSpeed - Up to 40 Gbit/s (5000 MB/s)

Usb 4.0 is compatible with Thunderbolt 3.

Only for the connector Type-C.

USB 3.2 (Renamed to USB 3.2 Gen 2x2)

SuperSpeed - Up to 20 Gbit/s (2500 MB/s)

USB 3.2 Gen 2x2. "2x2" is twice as fast as the first generation of the USB 3.2.

Only for the connector Type-C.

USB 3.1 (Renamed to USB 3.2 Gen 2)

SuperSpeed, -  Up to 10 Gbit/s (1250 MB/s)

USB 3.1 is also called USB 3.1 Gen 2. Speed 5 Gbit/s.

USB 3.0 (USB 3.1 Gen 1)

USB 3.0 have a Max. Speed 5 Gbit/s (625 MB/s).

USB 3.0 units can be used in USB 2.0-ports. Data transfer go in both directions and can be used in USB 2.0.

The Data transfer goes in both directions simultaneously which gives a increase in speed. This is possible becuse it is 5 extra conductors inside the cable.

Another advantage is that the USB 3.0 is able to give more Current to connected equipment, (0.9A). This open up for possibilitys and advantages. For example this can make external power supplies for example portable Harddrives redundant and give the manufacturers of harddrives the opportunity to develop better and slimmer products.

The Interface is also prepered to handle Optical Data. Normally the manufacturers use Copper Conductors but for more demanding environments is the possibility to use Optical Interface. Fiber reduce the risk of interference and give much faster speed.

SuperSpeed, Up to 5 Gbit/s

USB 2.0

USB 2.0 - Max. transfer speed (Hi-Speed) up to 480Megabit per Second. överföringshastigheten Hi-Speed på upp till 480 megabit per sekund (60 MB/s). The USB 2.0 Std is compatible backwards and can handle lower transfer speed.

Units with USB 2.0 works with units that only have USB1.1 and also the other way around.

Its not a requirement that USB 2.0 must work with the later higher speed.

Hi-Speed, Up to 480 Mbit/s

USB 1.0

USB 1.0 - Low Speed, Up to 1,5 Mbit/s

USB 1.1 - Full Speed, Up tol 12 Mbit/s

This lower speed (1.5 Megabit) is enough for Computer Mouse and Computer Keyboards.
